Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule a therapy session?
I begin with a free 15-minute consultation call to answer your questions and make sure we’re a good fit. After the consultation, we can schedule your first therapy session if it feels right. You can request a consultation by contacting me through the website, emailing me at liz@lgpsychotherapy.com, or texting/calling 323-963-3335.
Do you offer in-person or online therapy?
I offer both in-person therapy (in New York City’s Flatiron District, starting late summer 2025) and online therapy for clients throughout New York and California. You can choose the option that feels most comfortable for you.
What issues do you specialize in?
I work with a wide range of challenges. Many of my clients are adults navigating anxiety, depression trauma, ADHD, creative and professional challenges, or relationship issues. My approach integrates psychodynamic, ACT, DBT, and somatic therapy techniques.
How much do therapy sessions cost?
My standard rate is $275 per 45-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots. Please reach out if cost is a concern—accessibility matters to me.
Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a monthly superbill to submit for possible reimbursement from your insurance company. You can learn more on my Fees & Insurance page.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. If you need to cancel with less notice but we’re able to reschedule within the same week, there is no additional charge. Otherwise, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be billed at the full session rate.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies for each person. Some clients benefit from short-term support (a few months), while others choose longer-term therapy. We’ll discuss your goals and check in regularly about your progress.
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
The best way to find out is to schedule a free phone consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for and whether my approach feels like a good fit for your needs.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential and protected by law, with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of harm to yourself or others). I’m happy to answer any questions you have about confidentiality.
Do you work with clients outside New York or California?
At this time, I am only able to work with clients physically located in New York or California, due to licensing regulations.
